VeciTu

Terms of service

What VeciTu does and does not do

VeciTu is a service that connects a person who needs something with a person who has that item and can offer it.

VeciTu passes on the contact between users. It is not a party to their agreement, it does not lend, sell or rent out items, and it neither accepts nor handles payments between users.

Users agree directly between themselves on the price, the exchange, the dates, the way the item is handed over and returned, and all other terms.

VeciTu does not verify ownership, condition, quality or safety of the items offered, and does not verify the identity of users, unless stated otherwise for a particular feature.

Use without registration

VeciTu can be used without a conventional account and password.

Access to your own list of items, to requests and to other data may be secured by a personal link or an access code.

Anyone who obtains that link may gain access to your data in VeciTu. Do not pass the link on to other people and protect it as you would a password.

Access may be limited in time. If a user does not use the service for a longer period, the system may automatically cancel their access or their inactive data.

Rules of use

VeciTu is intended for ordinary and lawful lending, offering and exchange of items between people.

Through the service it is forbidden to offer or request in particular:

The service may not be used for spam, fraud, unauthorised advertising, harassment of other users, or any other activity contrary to the law or to the purpose of VeciTu.

Users are responsible for the data and information they enter into the service.

The operator may remove content, block access or end the use of the service for a user who breaks these rules or misuses the service.

The agreement between users

The agreement on lending, renting, exchanging or otherwise using an item arises directly between the users.

Users agree between themselves in particular on:

We recommend agreeing these terms before the item is handed over.

Liability

VeciTu is not liable for the performance of the agreement between users, nor for the condition, quality, safety, use, damage, loss or return of an item, unless the law provides otherwise.

The operator is not liable for the accuracy of data entered into the service by users, nor for the conduct of individual users.

Every user decides for themselves with whom and on what terms to enter into an agreement.

During the pilot, VeciTu may be modified, temporarily restricted, suspended or discontinued.

Free to a good home

An item added to the list can be marked by the user either as a loan or as free to a good home.

With free to a good home the owner hands the item over at no charge; nothing is paid for the item itself. Collection is arranged directly between the users.

Once collection is confirmed, the item is no longer offered from the list.

For giveaways too, VeciTu is not a party to the agreement and does not verify the condition or ownership of the item.

Price

Using VeciTu is free of charge during the pilot.

After the pilot ends we plan a fee of 1 € per successfully completed connection. It would be paid by the user who borrowed or received the item; the owner and the giver pay nothing.

The fee would arise only after a confirmed completion. Adding an item, creating a request, receiving a notification, sending an offer and revealing the contact are not charged for.

If we launch the paid service, we will say so in advance. No paid service is activated automatically without the user knowing.

Use of the service that was free will not be charged for retroactively.

Personal data

The rules on processing personal data are set out separately in the Privacy document.

Changes to these terms

The operator may reasonably change or supplement these terms.

The current wording will always be published on the VeciTu site. We may also inform users of substantial changes through the channel they use in VeciTu.

Changes do not apply retroactively to use of the service that has already ended or to agreements between users.

Governing law

These terms and the use of the service are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic.

The competence of supervisory authorities and the resolution of any disputes are governed by the applicable law of the Slovak Republic.
